Valerie Richman, LPC

Valerie Richman, MA, LPC, NCC, is a graduate of Oakland University in Rochester, MI, where she received her Master of Arts in Counseling degree. She also obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Michigan in Flint, MI.

Valerie is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a National Certified Counselor who is trained in Trauma Resiliency Model and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy.
Her prior experiences include intensive multi-systemic therapy working with court ordered youth and their families, and outpatient therapy working with children and adolescents with a variety of behavioral and mental health concerns.

She has worked with diverse populations and integrates various therapeutic modalities including mindfulness, CBT skills, and person centered interventions through a holistic framework in a fun and interactive way. Valerie believes in utilizing a family systems approach to treatment and collaborates with family members to promote understanding, and how best to manage their child’s behavior through positive parenting.

When Valerie is not providing care to her patients she enjoys hanging out with her family, running on the trails with her dog Katie, playing on the beach, and knitting.
