Valerie Blondin, Chief Financial Officer

Valerie Blondin is a native of West Michigan and attended West Michigan Christian High School.  She graduated with honors from Baker College with her bachelor’s degree in business administration with a major in accounting, a minor in management. Valerie has continued to advance her education with classes at e-Cornell, earning certificates in Executive Leadership, Performance Leadership, and Public Health Essentials.

Her professional career includes many years of physician office experience, particularly in the billing field. Her prior experience includes an adjunct teaching position at Baker College as well as working as a Controller/Asst Vice President at Community Shores Bank. An opening at the local hospital pulled her finance roles and physician office background together when she accepted a position at Hackley Hospital as an Accounting Manager. Years later, a merger between Hackley and Mercy Hospital(s) moved her career in a slightly different direction when she was promoted to a Business Director role for the combined Mercy Health nursing departments. In 2011, Valerie joined Hackley Community Care Center as their Chief Financial Officer. Her scope of responsibility in this role is to ensure adequate internal controls, remain compliant with legal and regulatory rulings, produce accurate financial statements, direct the development of the annual fiscal budget, provide financial guidance for strategic initiatives, and oversee the management of grants and patient financial services.

 Valerie is involved with several health-related boards and committees: Michigan Primary Care Association (MPCA) Board, Michigan Primary Care Association Finance and Budget Committee, Michigan Community Health Network (MCHN) Finance Committee and Trinity Health Alliance of Michigan (THAOM) Finance and Contracting Committee. Her professional affiliations include Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA)
