Greg Deacon MA LLP, CAADC, CCS graduated from Traverse City Senior High school and then attended Grand Valley Stat University where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. He then pursued and attained his master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Western Michigan University. Greg is a Limited Licensed Psychologist, Certified Advanced Addictions Counselor and supervisor from Michigan Certification Board for Addiction Professionals (MCBAP).
Greg began his career at Harbinger of Grand Rapids where he managed a Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team and case management team working with the chronically mentally ill the greater Grand Rapids area. After the merger of Harbinger and Transitions in the late 90’s to create Touchstone Innovare Greg was integral in opening “Touchstone’s Counseling Center.” After the merger between Touchstone Innovare’, ProAction Behavioral Health and Cherry Street Health Services he worked as director managing Cherry Health’s Medication Assisted Treatment programs, which provided methadone and Office Based Opioid Treatment programs.
Greg was fortunate to be source trained in Cognitive Therapy at the Beck institute of Cognitive Therapy and 10 days trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy from Behavioral Tech, LLC.
Outside of his professional career Greg enjoys the outdoors who is a member of the National Ski Patrol, he loves mountain biking, skiing and hunting.
