What You Need to Know

Hackley Community Care is here to help you stay covered. Important Medicaid changes are coming for many Michigan residents enrolled in Medicaid.

Beginning in 2027, some members will need to renew their coverage every six months and may be required to meet new work requirements to keep their health insurance.

As part of this partnership, you may receive text messages or phone calls from PointCare with reminders, guidance, and assistance related to your Medicaid coverage. Their team can help you understand renewal requirements, complete necessary paperwork, and avoid interruptions in your benefits.

What is Changing?

Medicaid Renewals Every 6 Month

Most Medicaid members will need to complete a renewal every six months instead of once per year.

Missing renewal notices or failing to provide requested information could result in a loss of coverage

New Work Requirements

Starting January 1, 2027, some adults ages 19-64 enrolled in the Medicaid will need to show they are working or participating in approved activities to maintain coverage. Approved activities may include:

  • Employment
  • Job training
  • School or vocational education
  • Volunteer work or community service

Many individuals already meet these requirements through activities they are currently doing. Some people may qualify for an exemption.
