Yessica Escutia Ponce de Leon, DDS, received her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry and Dental clinics in Iowa City, IA where she was the recipient of the International College of Dentists Humanitarian Award. She obtained her Bachelors of Science Degree in Liberal Arts with a concentration on Biology and Chemistry from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, IL.
Yessica has been active in community outreach events for the underserved, served as a translator and educator on a service learning project in Xicotepec Puebla, Mexico, and she is an active member of the Hispanic Student Dental Association.
Honors and Awards include the University of Iowa’s College of Dentistry and Dental Clinics Dean’s Student Leadership Award, the Dental Public Health Fellowship and Tuition Scholarship. She also received honors and awards from Northern Illinois University and McHenry College.
She is certified with the Central Regional Dental Testing Services (CRDTS) and is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), Michigan Dental Association (MDA), the Muskegon Dental Association, and the Hispanic Dental Association (HDA).
Fluent in Spanish, Yessica loves to help patients from all different backgrounds.
When she is not creating beautiful smiles Yessica enjoys dancing, hiking, camping and spending time with friends and family.
