Valerie Richman, MA, LPC, NCC, is a graduate of Oakland University in Rochester, MI, where she received her Master of Arts in Counseling degree. She also obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Michigan in Flint, MI.
Valerie is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a National Certified Counselor who is trained in Trauma Resiliency and certified in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy.
Her prior experience includes working with students and adolescents in primary mental health and behavioral health crisis response, ADHD, PTSD and other mood related disorders.
She has worked with diverse populations and integrates various therapeutic modalities including mindfulness, CBT skills, and solutions focused interventions through a holistic framework in a fun and interactive way. Valerie believes in utilizing a family systems approach to treatment and collaborates with family members to promote understanding, and how best to manage their child’s behavior through positive parenting.
When Valerie is not providing care to her patients she enjoys: hanging out with her family, running on the trails with her dog Katie, playing on the beach, and knitting.
