Kayla Sabo, LMSW, received her Master of Social Work and Bachelor of Social Work degrees from Grand Valley State University in Allendale, MI. She received her Associates of Applied Arts and Science from Muskegon Community College in Muskegon, MI.
“My passion for social work comes from personal life experience. I grew up in a small, rural community who held an ideation that people did not suffer from mental illness, especially
children”. Kayla credits her school social worker for having a major impact on her life and contributing to her desire to enter this field of work. “I want to continue to support and advocate for those who are oppressed and treated differently than myself”.
Kayla is excited about her current role working with the adolescent population and hopes this opportunity affords her the chance to positively impact their lives, as her counselor impacted her life.
Her favorite quote: “Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about the things that matter”- Martin Luther King Jr.
