Moira Monaghan, LMSW, received her Masters of Social Work from Michigan State University in East Lansing, MI. She received her Bachelors of Science degree in Humanities, graduating with honors, from Michigan State University. Moira has been practicing for 35 years, and has provided counseling services in both the United States and Canada.
Moira has provided counseling to patients in residential care, foster care and special needs adoption programs, hospice and home care, juvenile justice programs, and seniors. Moira has worked extensively in foster care and adoption programs working with children who have been abused and neglected and their families. She has worked with hospice, homecare and seniors working on issues of isolation, grief and loss and pain management. She has worked with juveniles in the corrections system and their families assisting youth to reintegrate into the community.
Moira started her private practice in 2019 and works with adults and children with a focus on cognitive behavioral interventions. She utilizes play therapy techniques and trauma focus with children and parenting skills training for their caregivers. She brings this same focus to Hackley Community Care. Moira is devoted to helping the community and providing services to all in need regardless of their financial resources.
Moira enjoys riding her horse, reading, gardening and playing with her dog when not providing care to her patients.
