Ashley Dowdell, Chief Compliance and Grants Officer

Ashley is a proud native and resident of Muskegon County and loves serving the community that helped to mold the person she has become today. Starting as a proud Muskegon Heights Public Schools Tiger alum and furthering her academic achievements locally at both Muskegon Community College and Baker College, Ashley successfully obtained her associate degree in Human Services (AAS), bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (BAA), and a master’s degree (MBA) in Healthcare Administration. In addition to this, Ashley has specialized training in project management, healthcare compliance, and grant writing.

 Ashley has been a health care administrator for over 12 years working in various leadership capacities including practice manager, administrator, regional manager, director, and business consultant within the West Michigan area. Having experience working in several sectors of both large and small healthcare systems, Ashley has always been particularly passionate about working with underserved and underrepresented populations and connecting them to high quality health care services that every human being deserves. From 2014- 2016, Ashley worked as a School Program Manager with Hackley Community Care, helping to expand our school-based programs into several districts throughout Muskegon County through the Network HUB project.

Ashley returns to Hackley Community Care serving as the Chief Compliance & Grants Officer where she oversees organizational corporate compliance, grants management and development, board development, serves as HCC’s HIPAA/Privacy Officer and leads various special project and digital transformation strategies for the organization.

Ashley is happily married to Desmond and together they have 4 amazing children ranging from ages 3 to 23 years old who they have the honor of raising here in Muskegon County. “One of the most rewarding achievements that we can accomplish in life is helping those who are less fortunate or who find themselves facing challenging times to receive the support that they need to be whole physically, mentally, and spiritually. I am honored to be a part of connecting the underserved and underrepresented of our community to the services that they need.” During her spare time, Ashley enjoys traveling with family and friends and serving in her local ministry.
