Tawna Vallance, MS, PA-C, Chief Medical Operations Officer

Tawna Vallance, MS, PA-C, attended Rutgers University (University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey) Physician Assistant program and earned her Master’s Degree in Health Sciences.  She also completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and Minor in Psychology from Indiana University.  Tawna started her career at Hackley Community Care in 1998 and through her years of practice, has grown in both her clinical and leadership skills. 

Having worked with the underserved her entire career, she is a strong believer in helping others. Her personal vision is to share values of faith, family and affection in a manner that brings tranquility to all aspects of a person’s life that may provide a foundation for personal growth.

Her clinical practice and leadership style are very similar, treating people as they’d like to be treated, keeping in mind the importance of the whole person (mind, body and spirit) and understanding the external factors that play into one’s behavior. 

Tawna has attended various leadership trainings, throughout the years, regular mentoring by the Officer group and has actively participated in a multitude of roles and committees throughout HCC.  Formally, Tawna has held the following leadership positions at HCC:

2010-2016: Lead Physician Assistant

2016-2017: Assistant Medical Director

2016-2020: Medical Director

2020-current: Chief Medical Operations Officer

Currently, Tawna provides administrative oversight for the Medical, Pharmacy, Quality, Safety/Environment of Care and Risk, and Dental departments.  She enjoys her work with patients/families, community partners and staff striving for equitable, innovative, high quality and safe care for all.
