“From a very early age, my mother instilled the importance of giving back to the community. In doing so, I determined to choose a college degree that would allow me to do just that. I found myself unemployed in 2007 and in need of medical attention. Hackley Community Care (HCC) and the terrific staff treated me and I was touched and humbled, knowing I did not have money to pay for the services I received. I asked to volunteer for HCC and was introduced to the Grandparents Raising Grandchildren (GRG) Program. I was able to assist in facilitating this program for two years. Becoming a member of this board was an easy choice for me after these experiences”.
Stephanie is married to her husband Damian who is a Muskegon County Sheriff’s Deputy and they have two wonderful children. She loves to travel, sing Karaoke, read and volunteer.
Her giving back and volunteer efforts are also active in engagements such as Muskegon Rotary, United Way of the Lakeshore, Board of Directors for Big Brothers and Big Sisters of the Lakeshore, and Polar Plunge.
“I believe that even with all we do as a board to serve our community, we wish we could do more. I see all the wonderful programs we support and sometimes wish we could see our efforts, first-hand. I know we have a great staff and the leadership is truly amazing. The support and dedication is evident in every individual of this organization that I have had the pleasure to meet”.
