Joy Evans, School Based Health Program Manager

S. Joy Evans serves as the School Based Health Program Manager at the Muskegon Teen Health Center. She joined the HCC School Wellness Program as an AmeriCorps Volunteer in 2008.  After serving as a volunteer for two years, HCC presented her the opportunity to permanently join the School Wellness Program staff.

Joy’s work experience includes community outreach and education, program development and implementation, service coordination, grant writing and reporting, student engagement, mentoring, and health education.  “What I like most about my work is leaving each day knowing I have made a difference in the life of a young person who will one day grow up to make a difference in the world.  I absolutely love watching our students progress and mature into responsible individuals.  It is amazing how we simply plant the seed (concept), add water (information), and then watch them grow”.
