Cassandra Wieckhorst, DDS received her Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in History, Philosophy and Sociology of Science, with a specialization in Bioethics. She is also an Honors Graduate from the Honors College of Michigan State University, and has received several awards and honors from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry for Academic Achievement.
Cassandra has obtained dental experience in various environments including Federally Qualified Health Centers, Jackson Correctional Facility, Sao Paulo-Bauru School of Dentistry in Bauru, Brazil, and Forensic Odontology with University of Michigan. Her passion focuses on treating patients in underserved communities both in the US and internationally.
She held multiple leadership roles and was an active member of the Special Care Dentistry Association, American Association of Public Health Dentistry, American Student Dental Association, American Association of Women in Dentistry, and Delta Sigma Delta.
Cassandra believes in giving back to others and has participated in numerous volunteer opportunities such as Mission of Mercy, Give Kids a Smile and other non-dentistry related organizations. She enjoys being a mentor and participated in teaching pre-dental students at boot camp about dental techniques and equipment, and mentoring underserved youth.
When Cassandra is not taking excellent care of her patients she enjoys spending time with her adopted dog and life-long friends, practicing her Portuguese language skills, or enjoying a local coffee shop.
